Scene Creating

x

Gantt Chart/Recording

The alterations to my gantt chart have been made as I had previously skipped information, such as dates of deadlines and time which the task must be completed in. I applied a progress line, milestones and dependances into my chart. I also altered the amount of lag time given for each task, if any at all is awarded.

In my multimedia project, I have started recording and editting the audio clips, using audcity. Using the previous script, in which I had written, I created voices for each one. This will be applied in the flash while, once all is uploaded corrected.

Once I had finished creating scenes in photoshop, they were then saved as a GIF, and uploaded into flash. It was there I started creating animation and coding the specific parts of my project.

Book analysis

Using already existing children's stories, we analysed the forms and conventions in which made it a success. The book I chose was "Horrid Henry" by Francesca Simon. It is a collection of 4 stories about a boy, named horrid Henry, who was not very nice to anyone and was extremely selfish. The humour in the book and the simplistic plot and language made it readable for all ages. The text size is large and pictures either take up a full page or break up the text. This suggests the age group which it is initially aimed at does not want to read large amounts of text. I will interpret this into my project.

25th November

We created a simple animation in flash and other flash exersises such as rollover text and 'click and drag' games. I will be interpretting these exercises into my final product. As to make it more appealing to the audience

We also had a presentation on our school's refurbishment plan by the civil engineer at Bouygues UK, the company who is repsponsible for the works. The representitive showed how gantt charts gave a time frame for tasks in a large, exspensive and reasourceful project. I showed the start/end date and final completion of the project. This idea should be interpretted into my own gantt chant to make it more reliable and useful in the time keeping, of this project. Tasks could be either completely late, on-time or early. A line would be drawn of where the engineer would think the team is at in construction, she could then see which areas needed more resources and more men on the job to speed up the process.

Design and Milestones.

I continued to design game user interfaces in photoshop. I also started working out how to approach the story's approach e.g. narrative - This is something to think about as I should write a script, If this approach is chosen. The multiple endings and general storyline need to be decided on and annitations on the designs need to be stronger so, when implementation occurs, I know what I am doing.

Milestones were introduced to my gantt chart on Microsoft Project. Also learnt about time, resources and tasks. Tasks need to be listed and completed to create the final and complete project. For example, user guide and justification. Time, on the chart, is decided depending on how much attention is needed per task. Resources, the physical items needed to make this project. For example, cameras or computer software.

Microsoft Project & Designing

On wednesday 22nd October, I started desiging two sets of layouts for the start page and the frame around each. I also started designing and creating the characters for my story. I used images from the internet and used them for a starting point for my own designs, these were done in photoshop. Over the half term, I designed two storyboards and two frame layouts and justify our reasons for them. I have done both the story boards and the two frame designs.

I also started to use Microsoft Project Planner, It is a useful programme which helps draw out a long term plan, gantt chart, by diving the project into individual tasks. The organisation of it means you can have a section, with many subtasks, which can go into large/small detail. This will be worked on through out my project. Timings of tasks will be as accurate as possible, but will be then changed throughout the project.

Websites and Flash.

Started to plan the design for our project, each setting will have its own hand drawn plan of style, fonts, colour scheme and event diary, The design for the main character has been completed and the different "faces" of the character is being drawn up, in photoshop. The image above is the first image, of my character, which is located on the start up page.

These designs have started to be put on publisher to map out where content/text will go, what will be occuring during the scene e.g. animation, audio. As shown in the image below, i have shown where buttons will appear on the page, what type of font I will be using for the title and a description of the image.

Despite this being similar to the ideal picture that i have in my head, i have created another variation to ensure that my idea is best for my project. I have take the character 'out of the box' to make it more interesting.
